For Alfred Current, owner of Alfred and
Charlie's, BBQ began as a hobby but soon became a passion.
Nearly a decade ago, what began as a humble gift to family and
friends, turned into a weekend consuming avocation as his
popularity and reputation began to grow around the Gastonia
area. Years ago the day came that Alfred had to leave the
business world behind and take the mantle of the jacket and
hat of a chef.
Now Alfred and Charlie's employs a small army
of hospitality professionals from a catering event organizer
to a full time chef and his assistant both of whom are
experienced and credentialed. The company owns a fleet of
catering vehicles and cookers which may be seen on the
highways of the eastern US from Connecticut to Florida.
It may come as a surprise that Alfred and
Charlie's recently catered a congressional luncheon in
Washington, DC! The event was such a success, they have been
asked to come again in the future and bring the good food and
hospitality to our country's leadership.
